Dance is the ideal way for people of all ages to express themselves, relieve tension and improve flexibility and it is a great way to have fun, get fit and make friends.

We believe our dance school plays an important role in education and development and we provide a friendly and caring environment where each child can maximise their potential and grow in confidence. Our classes are good for posture, health and fitness and are in line with the key stages in schools.

Our emphasis is on education and fun and students take part in our spectacular shows at professional theatres and also have access to other performance opportunities in the local area.

Our studios are top class with sprung floors, mirrors and a private car park for our customers.

 

Our Experience

  • All our teachers are fully qualified and have trained at full-time professional dance colleges and have experience in the professional dance industry.

  • We are an organised school with a structured and progressive timetable and clearly defined class age groups.

  • We are the only school in the area to offer optional exams that are accredited and recognised by Ofqual (the regulating board for qualifications in England), higher level exams qualify as UCAS points for University or higher education institutions

  • Our teachers are police and DBS checked

 

Our Teachers

Kim Frost - Principal

The Kim Frost School of Dance was established in 1998. Principal, Miss Kim trained at the Northern Ballet School in Manchester. She enjoyed a professional career as a dancer in theatres and on cruise ships around the world and is a registered and qualified teacher of the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and a registered and qualified Licentiate of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (ISTD). Kim is a qualified tutor for the a Royal Academy of Dance and delivers CPD workshops to other teachers, whilst enjoying an active role at the school teaching many of the student classes throughout the week.

Hannah Jones - Festival Coodinator

Miss Hannah trained at  Cambridge Performing Arts and with London Contemporary Dance at 'The Place'. She performed in the UK and Europe with the Bodywork Dance Company and for The London College of Fashion. She is a registered and qualified teacher of the RAD and the ISTD and also holds her teaching  qualification in Pilates. Students have the option to enter local festivals and competitions. The competition team is led by Miss Hannah who has many years of experience entering and choreographing festival dances.

Amy Hindmarsh - Events Coordinator

Miss Amy trained at Kim Frost School of Dance from a young age, completing her Advanced level exams with Distinctions, including Grade 8 and Advanced RAD Ballet and ISTD Advanced Tap and Modern. She has recently studied at Ellite Studios to complete her  ISTD DDE teaching exams and after many years of assisting with classes at the school - gaining valuable teaching experience, we are delighted to welcome her to our teaching faculty.

Miss Amy is excited to share her dedication and passion for dance with our students.

Joanna Mitchell - Acrobatic Arts

Miss Joanna is qualified and experienced Acrobatic Arts and Dance Teacher. She has taught in Dance Schools, Primary Schools and theatre groups for many years. Miss Joanna teaches the Wednesday night Acrobatic Arts classes - working on gymnastics and Acro skills, body conditioning and stretching. She is delighted to share her enthusiasm and passion with our students.
